## How it works

Cost per kilometre = yearly premium ÷ kilometres per year. Cost per 100 km is that figure × 100. Cost per month is the yearly premium ÷ 12.

## Example

You pay €1,200 a year and drive 15,000 km. €1,200 ÷ 15,000 = **€0.08** per km, **€8.00** per 100 km and **€100.00** per month.

## Questions

### Does this say what my premium should be?

No. It only restates the premium you enter as a price per kilometre. What an insurer charges depends on the car, the driver and the cover.

### Is anything I enter stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent.

### Why per 100 km as well?

Fuel and charging are often priced per 100 km, so the same unit makes the two costs easy to compare.
